Is this real silk or satin?
Satin is a weave, not a fibre. A satin nighty can be woven from polyester, rayon or silk, and all three give the same glossy face and fluid drape. Natural silk is the fibre itself, and it costs several times more.
Almost everything sold as a silk nighty in Pakistan at everyday prices is polyester satin. That is not a problem in itself — it drapes well, holds colour and survives washing better than natural silk — but it is worth knowing what you are buying. Check the Fabric & Care panel on each product page, which shows the composition where the supplier stated one.
The practical difference is care. Polyester satin handles a gentle machine wash. Natural silk needs hand washing in cool water and drying flat away from sun.
